BRIEF HISTORY
Non-Formal Education
Department/Major of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Sultan Ageng
Tirtayasa University is a state institution of higher education located in
Serang City, Jl. Raya Jakarta KM 4 Pakupatan Serang Banten. Non-Formal
Education Major was established on 19 August 1992 with status registered
according to SK No. 377/DIKTI/Kep/1992 signed by Sukadji
Ranuwihardjo in Jakarta and lastly in 2006, this Non-Formal Education Major is
accredited C with SK Dikti No. 057/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/VII/2013 valid from 7
July 2013, with period of license extension of Non-Formal Education Major valid
until 21 September 2015.
VISION OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
In 2025: “to make Non-Formal Education Department
able to produce graduates for formal, non-formal, and informal teachers and
educators with excellent quality and characters”.
MISSIONS OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
The missions of
Non-Formal Education Department are performed gradually by various educational
process activities until 2025, they are: 1) Performing complete, relevant, and
quality services of educational process activities (learning, guidance, and/or
training) using various approaches, strategies, methods, and multimedia; 2) Providing
professional teachers (lecturers) and educators in accordance with curriculum
demand and respective workload; 3) Conducting research activities and community
services as well as appropriate educational and social programs and practices
and supporting academic knowledge and insight of students/graduates of
Non-Formal Education Department; 4) Performing educational process activities
based on Non-Formal Education philosophy namely as complement, adder,
substitute, and developer; 5) Producing innovative educational products for
purpose of curriculum development and learning activities in Non-Formal
Education.
GOALS OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
While the goals of
Non-Formal Education Department until 2025 gradually by educational process
activities are the following:
a. Producing graduates with excellent quality and characters
in field of formal, non-formal, and informal education.
b. Producing quality graduates as teachers and educators in
formal, non-formal, and informal education units that have local, national, and
global value conception.
c. Producing graduates that are capable to explore and use
various information technologies by utilizing and using technology advancement
relevant to non-formal education development.
d. Producing graduates that have entrepreneurship soul
supported by competences that are capable to compete in various areas.
